The foolish person will say: “But I believe in Jesus. My faith (belief) alone will allow me to go to Heaven regardless of the sinful life I choose to live. I will not give up my sins.”
Salvation means that you will go to heaven.
Will an earnest prayer, asking that Jesus be my Lord (Boss) actually save me from God's wrath? The answer is yes, but you must be serious and really receive Jesus as your Lord and Master (Boss). And when Jesus is your Boss, you must obey and make every attempt to follow His commandments.
The Bible says, “For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works [righteous behavior and good deeds] is dead.”
Apostle James 2:26
In other words, if you say you have faith, but you do not obey the commandments of God, then your faith is dead and worthless. So, if your faith is dead, then you will encounter the punishment from God.
But if your faith is real and operative, then you will obey God’s rules and you will be saved from the wrath of God.
The Bible says, “But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works [righteous behavior and good deeds] is dead?”
Apostle James 2:20
A person’s good deeds and righteous behavior are proof of faith in Jesus Christ. Belief in Jesus is essential for a person to inherit the Kingdom of God. Without good godly behavior, there is no salvation.
Anyone that tells you that you can continue your sinful lifestyle and still go to heaven is a liar. Remember, that if you fall into sin again after you have become a Christian, you merely need to ask God to forgive you. God will you remember you as His child and will forgive your sins.
Some preachers believe that you can say a simple prayer to receive Jesus in your heart and that prayer will earn you a place in Heaven, regardless of the sin ridden life you continue to pursue. Don’t believe such a confused person.
